GAF SB150 Roof Coating is a high-quality, silicone-based roof coating system designed for use on flat or low-slope roofs. It provides excellent durability and long-lasting protection against water, UV rays, and extreme weather conditions. The coating is easy to apply, dries quickly, and forms a seamless, flexible membrane that helps prevent leaks and extends the roof’s life. Additionally, it can reflect the sun’s heat, helping to reduce energy costs. The SB150 Roof Coating is a versatile solution for a variety of roofing surfaces and can be used to repair and restore a wide range of roofs.
Conduct Roofing Test Square
Cool Roofs first conducted a test square to ensure the SB 150 is a perfect candidate to perform as a high-traffic roof system on the parking garages’ upper level. GAF manufacture rep out of Arizona flew in to ensure we followed all manufacture specifications.
Remove the Current Roof System
First, remove the old roof system down to the substrate and etch the concrete with a shot blaster. Clean the concrete and apply it for all patch work as per manufacturer specifications.
Apply Roof Sealant
Seal all cracks in low areas and the substrate with polyurethane products and install a two-part primer.
Apply Roof Primer
The primer is to be mixed for three minutes prior to application. Install a two-part primer with hand rollers to ensure even coverage and followed by applying the SB 150 coating over the primer.
Install SB 150
Apply four layers of GAF SB 150, allowing the coating to dry for 48 hours. This will achieve a five-year manufacturer warranty for a high-traffic roof system.
